PHNOM PENH: On Sunday afternoon, fifth of December, Prime Minister Hun Sen has shared an official declaration to the Friends of Mine Action. Prime Minister Hun Sen has deeply thanked donors, development partners and other sectors of society for generous financial support and contributions to capacity building in the Cambodian mine sector, as well as being important roles for peace maintenance in the Kingdom, decreasing the number of casualties, poverty alleviation, and socio-economic rehabilitation.

His special gratitude was delivered to national and international operators, specially deminers for participating in the high risk activities promoted by the Royal Government to clear landmines and ERWs.

At last, the Cambodian Mine Action and the Victim Assistance Authority, which is the Government’s arm for Cambodian mine action, were reminded as essential partners to clean the nation’s land.

According to Prime Minister’s message, the Royal Government hopes Cambodia will be mine free by 2025 following the National Mine Action Strategy 2018-2025.

Prime Minister Hun Sen finished his message saying: “Together we began; together we will finish our job ‘Towards a Mine Free Cambodia 2025’”.
